Press Release 03 (03.05.2019)
The elite of the domestic rallye racing will head for Český Krumlov. The entry deadline is on Sunday
The entry list for 47th Rallye Český Krumlov has been filling up nicely in the last hours before the deadline. Now it is for sure that the South Bohemian tracks of the FIA Central Rally Trophy will host the battle among the best domestic pilots on May 17-18.

The biggest attraction for spectators will be the world premiere of the new Škoda Fabia R5 EVO that will be presented by the acting World Champions in the WRC 2 category and winners of the last four years of Rallye Český Krumlov, Jan Kopecký and Pavel Dresler. The organizers register also the entry of the crew who terminated the admirable series of triumphs of the factory crew at Rally Šumava. Václav Pech, whose pacenotes will be read as usually by Petr Uhl, will pilot a top-notch Ford Fiesta R5. The promising pilot Filip Mareš will try to defend his podium positions from both the preceding events of Autoklub Rally Championship of the Czech Republic on the demanding special stages in South Bohemia. As always, it will be Jan Hloušek who will read him the pacenotes in Škoda Fabia R5 of the Roman Kresta team.
Among those who will try to disrupt the hegemony of rally cars with the winged arrow badge will be Vojtěch Štajf with still the only one “Czech” Volkswagen Polo R5 or a pilot of a rather exotic car Hyundai i20 R5, Martin Vlček. Also Jan Černý will fight for the top ranks overall, or Miroslav Jakeš (both Škoda Fabia R5) whose mechanics are working hard in these days on a new bodywork that was substantially damaged at the big accident at Rallye Šumava Klatovy.
A pleasant surprise is the entry from the 2WD ex-champion Egon Smékal who will arrive at Český Krumlov with Citroënem DS3 R3T Max after a four-year absence. There will also be other fast drivers in 2WD cars. Let us name for example the fastest junior of the previous year, Matěj Kamenec or similarly fast René Dohnal. A foreign guest Miklós Csomós (Hungary) can become a dark horse among young Czech drivers at the wheels of Peugeots 208 R2. He has governed the 2WD category at both the previous domestic rallies and presented himself with several very good SS times at last year’s Barum Czech Rally Zlín.

More and more popular historic cars will also take part in the fight for points in the championship of the Czech Republic. At the moment, about 20 of them are registered. Let’s mention ex-factory pilot Vladimír Berger with Škoda 130 LR, and the same racing “tools“ will be used by almost local crew Jan Krejča – Pavel Šárka, by experienced Petr Hejhal or Daniel Kotek, still a rally novice, whose pacenotes will be read by his grandpa Jiří Kotek, the famous co-driver of Svatopluk Kvaizar in the nineteen seventies and eighties in the colours of AZNP Škoda Mladá Boleslav. Ford Escort Cosworth by Vlastimil Neumann or BMW 2002 Ti by Stanislav Budil will be surely among the fastest historic machines. A welcome guest from distant France is Stéphane Scellier with Opel Kadett GSI who won the initial event of MČR HA at Kopná.
The organizers from ÚAMK Automotoklub Rallye Český Krumlov and ČK motorsport remind that the deadline for entries is this Sunday, May 5, at 8 p.m. (20.00) Central European Summer Time (GMT+2)! Electronic entry form is available online on the website of the event.
